"It represents a true honor for Art for Us to be a beneficiary of this award and be part of the events provided by the National Endowments for the Arts in Association with Art Midwest, NEA Big Read. We feel a great social and cultural responsibility because, Art for Us, inspired by the book Homegoing/Volver a Casa de Yaa Gyasi, will be able to contribute through it's original show Aves al viento and multiple other events to the understanding of solidarity and empathy with all of us who have left our place of origin behind" Said Cristina Rebull, BA, president of Art for Us.

The NEA Big Read offers a range of titles that reflect many different voices and perspectives, aiming to inspire meaningful conversations, artistic responses, and new discoveries and connections in each community. The main feature of the initiative is a grants program. managed by Arts Midwest, which annually supports dynamic community reading programs, each designed around a single NEA Big Read selection.

With Certain Women

The project With Certain Women/Con Ciertas Mujeres corresponds to the main purposes of Art for Us, since it seeks to encourage the artistic appreciation of the community and create a more sensitive and creative audience.

One of our objectives as an organization is to create spaces for women artists to make their creative talent known and this project is precisely about women and their role in society and in families. Our organization will work to stimulate new talents and this project will be enriched by the performances of conservatory students who will have the opportunity to work alongside established artists.
